Ben is a senior underwriter with BBVA Compass in Dallas, Texas. A typical day involves communicating with commercial lenders as well as his bank’s internal treasury in regards to loan requests from regional businesses.

>> The challenges in; at my desk is that I don't have sales goals; our lenders do. From my perspective it's my job to maintain credit quality in the bank so it's a slightly different priority. But at the same time we want to make; we want to be there for our customers and we want to be able to come through for them. So it's a give and take; loan production versus credit quality and in my chair it's a juggling act between our; our lender who wants to close the deal and our credit approval officer who is going to ultimately sign off and approve or revise the credit. So in my chair it's a juggling act competing with those different priorities.
