>> My name is Judy is Seely, and I'm Director of Human Resources for Adhesives Research, Inc., which is a manufacturing company in southern Pennsylvania. The responsibilities include pretty much the full gamut of HR from recruiting to performance management to employee relations, benefits administration, wellness committee, entertainment committee. Really all of the things that encompass HR. A busy day in the life of HR at my company would include probably at least one phone screen of a candidate for any particular position we have open. In some cases I try to bunch them together. If we've got a position open I'll try to do a, sort of a phone blitz for that position. It would also include potentially some review of perhaps some issues with our performance management system that we're still trying to get a handle on. It could include a meeting of the wellness committee where we're trying to figure out what is, what does the company need? What would the company like to promote in terms of wellness? What do our metrics from our health insurance folks tell us? So, I might be reviewing reports from a health insurer. I might be reviewing statistics about turnover. I might be creating reports. You know, I might be counseling one of my employees, giving them some direction on how to handle a particularly sensitive matter. I might be speaking to someone about an employee relations issue be it, you know, somebody is, you know, it could be anything from something as big as a sexual harassment case or as small as, you know, someone is getting on my last nerve. It really just depends. It's such a broad range. But a busy day is going to include some meetings. It's going to include some recruiting. And it's going to definitely include some reporting or metrics.
