Eric is an independent contractor who does commercial property inspections for insurance companies. Especially in the wake of large storms of the past decade, insurance companies will hire Eric to inspect properties prior to writing policies.

>> My name is Eric Kessler, I'm an independent contractor and I do commercial property inspections in the Philadelphia area. I do work for insurance companies, also some companies that deal with banks with existing mortgages. So I work for two insurance companies, one's located in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, one's in Harrisburg and one's in Los Angeles. So, basically they'll send me out to a site, just do general inspections nothing crazy, I'm not digging through plumbing pipes. But there's usually a property manager that I meet. Ask a lot of questions too. You know speak with them, get a general idea of the function of the property and then just do walk through, take some photos and then file reports if they're completed. And really since some of the larger storms in the United States over the past ten years or so, they really put a focus on having somebody go out and visit a property before policy is written. So just to have some photos on file of what the property looked like when the policy was written so that there's no false claims and certainly insurance fraud is a, is a you know a problem that they're trying to tackle too.
