Getting to Know the Opportunity:
Intern will have responsibilities in areas of trading and credit Research assisting portfolio managers in day-to-day business by providing trading and analysis support. Please Note: This position has been designated as a hybrid-office/home role. Details of your in-office schedule will be finalized with your manager.
The Contributions You’ll Make:
1. Support trade entry and confirmation processes.
2. Assist in reporting & monitoring
• Assist portfolio managers in measuring risk through exposure reports as needed.
• Monitor inflows and outflows in portfolios.
• Advise portfolio managers on trades needed to maintain desired exposures.
3. Assist in providing updates to Indication of Interest Database.
4. Assist with generation of Quarterly Trading Reports.
5. Assist in attribution reporting of returns
6. Other responsibilities may include: creating Broker Meeting Presentations, assisting with Compliance issues as needed, compiling Weekly Research Books, creating Daily Barclays Aggregate & Credit Index Performance Reports, generating Index Analytics and Information as requested, compiling Monthly Third Party Performance Book.
7. Other Index or Portfolio Requests as needed.
8. Relay Market Information to Portfolio Managers.
9. Other opportunities may include:
• Financial Modeling – Under direction of sector analyst develop summary industry financial models including Income Statement, Cash flow and Balance Sheet. Project key coverage and leverage ratios going forward.
• Earning Calls – Listen to and summarize earnings calls for analysts with multiple reporting companies in a particular day/week. Summarize calls and earnings releases, draft commentary for analyst review.
Sector Review – assist analysts in preparation related to Industry Review Meetings. With analyst direction, collect relevant data, prepare specific analysis, develop slides for analyst review and inclusion.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
1. Pursuing a Master’s degree in Finance or related field.
2. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
3. Solid quantitative skills.
4. Very flexible & assertive nature.
5. Able to work independently in a high activity environment.
6. Focused interest in asset management
