About the Role
We’re looking for a Financial News & Data Reporting Intern with strong writing skills, an understanding of markets and macroeconomics, and proficiency in data analysis tools. You’ll track major financial news and translate it into timely, data-backed summaries for internal tools and external content. This role is ideal for students who love writing about markets, interpreting economic signals, and working with real-time data to inform investor decisions.
What You’ll Do
Track and summarize daily macroeconomic events, company earnings, and market developments
Produce concise, high-quality news briefs and financial commentary for internal and external distribution
Use data tools to quantify market reactions and support narratives with relevant metrics
Collaborate with researchers and developers to integrate content into our platform’s market coverage
Assist in automating market alerting or content workflows using scripts and APIs
Identify and analyze emerging trends, themes, or correlations across sectors and economies
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, Journalism, Data Science, or a related field (junior/senior preferred)
Experience with data analysis tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), SQL, or Excel
Strong written communication skills with a clear, engaging style
Solid grasp of macroeconomic indicators, company filings, and financial news sources
Ability to quickly synthesize complex information into actionable insights
Bonus: Familiarity with financial APIs, web scraping, or content platforms like Substack or X (Twitter)
