The Musco Developmental Sales Team is seeking a Sales Representative Trainee (RSA) to work from Vancouver, Canada. The RSA serves as the initial phase in our sales training program, aimed at developing proficient sales representatives for the Canadian market. In this role, you will acquire knowledge of Musco’s systems and sales strategy, while actively engaging in sales initiatives, and client interactions, and contributing to project tasks. This practical experience is structured to prepare you for a successful transition to a Sales Representative role.

What you will do as a Sales Representative Trainee (RSA)
- Engage in a structured learning program to understand the market dynamics, Musco’s products, and sales strategy
- Participate in customer meetings and internal training sessions to learn the process of qualifying projects and understanding customer needs
- Conduct outreach initiatives, such as cold calling and networking, under guidance to develop communication and sales skills
- Assist in developing educational strategies for various customer segments to gain insights into effective customer engagement
- Learn to effectively present and advocate for Musco’s products and services by shadowing experienced sales personnel
- Collaborate with the internal team to support customer needs and contribute to team initiatives, gaining an understanding of the sales support process
- Engage in market research activities to understand the factors influencing sales and product success in the market
- Support Sales Management in strategic planning and operational tasks to gain perspectives on sales management
- Participate in tradeshows and conferences, assisting in promotional activities and market engagement under supervision
- Prepare for progression to a Sales Representative role by adopting and practicing effective sales strategies and customer engagement techniques
Position Evolution:
The RSA is a dynamic training position that leads to a Sales Representative role, where the individual will take on strategic sales responsibilities, manage customer relationships, and contribute significantly to the territory’s sales goals. The timing of this transition will be based on the individual’s progress and readiness as assessed by the management team.
What you need to be successful
- Must be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residency in Canada
- Willing to attend in-person training for an extended amount of time. Training will be held at our Corporate Headquarters located in Oskaloosa, Iowa (United States)
- College degree in Sports Management, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Business or a related field
- 1-3 years of previous work experience preferred, entry-level college graduate will be considered
- Passion for selling and building trusting relationships with our customers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present in front of groups
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, ability to manage the workload as it relates to customer visits, project deadlines and internal communications
- Self-disciplined and able to work independently to achieve results
- Tenacious, able to persevere through sales challenges and setbacks
- Strong technical aptitude, ability to understand and present Musco products and services
- Personally motivated to learn and develop
- Ability to travel 50%
