Director, New Development & Innovation
OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Supports all the autism divisions on planning, design, and execution of strategy. Facilitates transformation, innovation, new development, and business improvement initiatives and solutions of major impact to the organization/service line. Oversees autism project management support and facilitates development and implementation of new products and enhancements; ensures coordination of personnel and resources required to successfully complete projects. Oversee electronic health record analysts and business analysts aimed at optimizing the operation of autism services. Ensures projects/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets and strategic plan. Coordinates strategy and data integration with data warehouse team, other members of IT team, and external vendors as needed. Assures compliance of projects and solutions with applicable standards and regulations, internal and external to the organization.
Starting pay: $126,984 annually
▪Supports the autism organization strategic objectives, initiatives, and high-impact projects, in areas such as technical and operational improvement and standardization, development of solutions, new services and transformation of existing ones. Collaborates with stakeholders and external entities as applicable.
▪Responsible for researching, identifying, understanding, and analyzing market demands, business development opportunities, related technology trends, and the competitive field. Additionally, recommends modifications to the service line. Develops proposals in quantitative and qualitative terms, including a development and implementation plan.
▪Manages and directs a team of project management professionals. Plans, prioritizes, monitors, provides direction, and validates work of team to ensure appropriate skills, workload, quality and timeliness of deliverables. Provides periodic reporting of status of projects, costs, schedules, communications, contractual deliverables, among other key metrics to VP, Clinical Strategy & Operations and leadership team.
▪Ensures new developments and projects are in compliance with applicable contractual obligations, requirements of regulatory agencies, standards, policies and procedures, internal and external to ESSC.
▪Partners closely with clinical leaders and department heads within the service line, vendors, and with pertinent teams across the organization to ensure collaborative relationships to elevate performance, and coordination of efforts toward successful completion of projects.
▪Leads research and evaluation of emerging trends in services for all the autism divisions to determine their worth to the organization. Recommends ways to apply new products, services, and solutions that will maximize their value to the organization.
▪Oversees all EHR and Business analysts associated with autism services. Leads team to facilitate optimization of service line operation. Works closely with data warehouse team and other cross functional teams as needed to ensure operational strategy is socialized with stakeholders for ultimate success.
▪Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends as it relates to all the autism divisions, EHR software and related applications and technology. Identifies innovative initiatives to share with autism leadership to streamline operation of the service line and it’s various functions.
▪Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions; Ensure seamless integration of diverse systems and data sources to optimize organizational workflows.
▪Recruits, interviews, selects, orients and trains new hires, as needed. Ensures that team members are working in a safe and secure environment.
▪Other duties as assigned.
▪Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Management, Psychology, or other relevant field. Master’s degree in a related field is required. MBA preferred.
▪Project Management certification is preferred.
▪Health Information Management certifications preferred.
▪7 years in business/service development, project management or innovation experience as an individual contributor. Including 5 years in a managerial capacity. Hands-on experience leading projects centered around growth strategy and service innovation highly desirable.
▪Previous work experience in healthcare or behavioral health organizations preferred.
▪Experience leading, managing and delivering projects within a multi-site medical model is preferred; strong understanding of various project management methodologies and tools.

▪Ability to effectively manage and lead multiple fast-paced technical and non-technical projects of medium to large size, and medium to high complexity, and provide high quality results.
▪Experience developing and delivering technical and non-technical presentations for team, corporate, and service line leadership. Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
▪Thorough knowledge of local, state, federal, and applicable regulations regarding the management of EHR client information, and HIPAA. Or the ability to acquire this knowledge.
▪Ability to acquire an understanding of organization and department policies, procedures, and practices.
▪Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and learn department-specific technology and computer systems.
▪Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook), and familiar with EHR systems.
▪Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, with all levels of staff and the general public; and maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
▪Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
▪Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
▪Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
▪Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
▪Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC and a post-offer physical evaluation.
