Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise staff including selection of staff, planning, assigning, reviewing work; provide training and manage performance and discipline.
- Prepare and analyze budgets, develop and maintain financial models for utility services (water, wastewater, solid waste, etc.) including cost of service analysis and rate design; ensure accuracy in financial forecasting and reporting.
- Manage complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery of financial, regulatory or operational outcomes.
- Interpret relevant legislation and regulations, policies affecting Environmental Utilities operations and ensure compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong financial and data analysis skills, including experience with cost modeling, rate setting and feasibility studies.
- Knowledge of utility finance and operations, including municipal budgeting, rate structures and environmental utility regulations and ability to prepare a variety of technical, administrative and regulatory reports and correspondence.
- Experience in managing complex projects and staff.
- Proven ability to interpret legislation and assess impact on utility operations and compliance requirements.
- A dedication to building and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
