THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a

Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker

Are you ideal for working as a Parks Maintenance Worker at the City of Leawood?

  • Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent?
  • Are you 18 years of age OR older?
  • Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
  • Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
  • Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
  • Do you have horticulture, landscaping, and planting experience?
  • Do you have mowing experience?

As a Parks Maintenance Worker, you will work:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
  • This position will be occupied from the end of May through August.

A few of the things you will be doing include:

  • Assist in the landscaping and maintenance of City-owned facilities and parks.
  • You will be responsible for planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, and watering all plants.
  • Assist with the maintenance and preparation of the soccer and T-ball fields, including chalking, mowing, painting, and repositioning goals.
  • Assist in mowing, edging, string trimming, watering, and laying sod.
  • Assist with routine inspections for insects, weeds, and diseases affecting trees, shrubs, and plantings.
