Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker
Are you ideal for working as a Parks Maintenance Worker at the City of Leawood?
- Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent?
- Are you 18 years of age OR older?
- Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
- Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
- Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
- Do you have horticulture, landscaping, and planting experience?
- Do you have mowing experience?
As a Parks Maintenance Worker, you will work:
- Approximately 40 hours per week from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
- This position will be occupied from the end of May through August.
A few of the things you will be doing include:
- Assist in the landscaping and maintenance of City-owned facilities and parks.
- You will be responsible for planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, and watering all plants.
- Assist with the maintenance and preparation of the soccer and T-ball fields, including chalking, mowing, painting, and repositioning goals.
- Assist in mowing, edging, string trimming, watering, and laying sod.
- Assist with routine inspections for insects, weeds, and diseases affecting trees, shrubs, and plantings.
