Job Summary:
We are looking for a knowledgeable Network Technician to support and maintain our wireless network infrastructure across a large metropolitan area. As part of our technical team, you’ll work directly with MikroTik devices and provide on-site and remote technical support for our customers and internal team. This role requires a practical understanding of wireless networking, IP configuration, and troubleshooting to keep our services reliable and efficient.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain MikroTik routers, switches, and wireless access points for customer and infrastructure sites.
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless links in various locations.
• Conduct on-site visits for equipment installation, signal testing, and troubleshooting of network and connectivity issues.
• Provide technical support for customers experiencing connectivity issues, ensuring quick resolution and clear communication.
• Document network configurations, installations, and maintenance tasks for internal records.
• Assist senior engineers with network monitoring, performance testing, and planned upgrades or expansions.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and signal adjustments on wireless equipment.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience in a network or field technician role, ideally in an ISP or WISP setting.
• Familiarity with MikroTik products and RouterOS is required, with a basic understanding of network and wireless configurations.
• Working knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, and wireless signal troubleshooting.
• Basic certifications such as MikroTik MTCNA or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
Skills:
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills for both hardware and connectivity issues in wireless networks.
• Attention to detail and an organized approach to documenting tasks and configurations.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with good communication skills for working with customers and engineers.
